I had a great afternoon today shooting for my series of photos Surprising Southend. I went out intending to capture some of the post-modernist buildings like the Civic Centre and ended up finding loads of other opportunities and spent 5 hours capturing the central library, Focal Point gallery and some of Southend life and I hope you enjoy the shots.
Continuing my series of pictures of Southend, I took my new Lumix lens out on a sunny Saturday yesterday and got some great shots from free-runners to seabirds and a beautiful sun reflecting on the water. I experimented with the aperture and am really pleased with the results, having gone to both ends of the scale with it. I think I’ll be using it a lot more in the future as I like the flexible creativity it provides.
