I had such a fantastic time this week, I watched Peter Grimes on the beach at Aldeburgh with my good friend Ben in the sun, moon and stars. The whole thing was part of the Benjamin Britten centenary and was one of the most memorable things I have seen, I will never forget it. To watch something on the beach of the town it was written about, in the early evening and into the night was incredible. The set by Leslie Travers was a feat of design and engineering, living as one with the beach and the sea.
The opera opened with a Spitfire flying down the beach then returning with a loop before flying off into the sunset. I hope you like my pictures of the event, which were shot with my Leica Digilux 2.
